This course is developed to give teachers who will be writing the licensing examination a focus. The examination does not cover every subject the teachers might have learned at the teacher education institution. For instance, it does not cover the teaching subjects. Rather, it is primarily interested in the general academic and pedagogical areas that are represented by five subjects (Sections) as follows: (1) English Language, (2) Mathematics, (3) Information and Communication Technology (ICT), (4) Teacher Education Curriculum, and (5) Professional Standards.

Also, the syllabus and this course do not include every topic that should normally be taught under the five subjects above. Instead, it articulates the basics (essentials) that every aspiring teacher must know and practice.

This course is designed for New Teachersespecially those from the Teacher's Certificate group.
